The world ‘discovered’ classic French Cuisine from the 70’s onward – those Retro/Bistro French dishes introduced us to garlic and snails, to warm salads and duck Montmorency… We are talking indiscriminately and un-apologetically RETRO. We’re talking of daily-changing MENUS DU JOUR that were served up by countless BISTROS and roadside restaurants all over France. Today, in Paris and many other areas of France, there is a return to these classic, unforgettable traditional Bistro dishes and Le Pistou offers a course entirely devoted to this nostalgic retro cuisine.
Think ESCARGOTS in garlic butter or SALADE TIÈDE de FOIE de VOLAILLE (salad with a dressing of warm, raspberry-finished chicken livers) or JAMBON PERSILLÉ served with salad and crispy baguette… VOLS AU VENT oozing fragrant MUSHROOM or SHELLFISH RAGOÛT… fragrant FRENCH ONION SOUP…
That’s just for starters. For mains perhaps a fragrant POT AU FEU or a comforting BOEUF BOURGUIGNON… or perhaps CANARD MONTMORENCY (duck with cherries) and POMMES FONDANTES (fondant potatoes) or AILE DE RAY (ray-wing) with its traditional BEURRE NOISETTE or a Caper Sauce..
And to finish? Perhaps a classic TARTE TATIN… a fail-proof FONDANTS au CHOCOLAT (little molten chocolate cakes) or traditional Creme Brulée…

This course costs 130€ per person.
We need a minimum of 4 people to run a course – maximum 8 participants.
Non-cooking partners may join us for lunch afterwards for 40€.
