Class with Market Tour

Our award-winning outdoor market takes place twice a week in Uzes – on Wednesdays and Saturdays. So we offer this class on these days only.  Because the markets get really busy, especially in summer, we’ll start at 9am. We’ll meet outside Restaurant Terroirs on the Place aux Herbes to shop together for whatever fabulous produce is in season.

The food…

Think fish from this morning’s catch, or sparkling fresh asparagus… Think sun-ripened tomatoes in a plethora of colours and shiny aubergines.. And baby artichokes, fresh broadbeans, luscious peaches and sun-warmed figs.. And let’s not forget the young purple garlic and the bright yellow courgette flowers – to be stuffed by you. Now add to this some perfectly matured goatscheeses and a few baguettes from my neighbour’s tiny bakery and we have a feast!  You’ll get plenty of opportunity to ask questions and chat to the stall keepers. And then, our baskets brimming with goodies, we’ll walk the 5 minutes back to the school and we’re ready to start chopping, peeling, grating and whisking.

To keep ourselves focused we may need some help (a glass or two of bubbly usually does the trick) and we’ll be chatting and sharing tales of wisdom while we cook. Then we sit down to lunch at around 1pm, and two hours later, with the help of more wine and shared stories, we’ll part as if we’ve been friends forever!

This course costs €130 per person all inclusive. We need a minimum of 6 people to run a course and there's room for maximum 8.
